Silica Control Tool
Occupational Health Clinics for Ontario Workers recently launched an online tool to help construction companies who work with silica reduce exposure to this material and protect workers from lung disease.
As part of an extensive outreach campaign, I worked with the not-for-profit to promote the tool on social media. The focus of the content was to create awareness about silica in construction materials and processes, raise concern about the risk of lung disease and encourage companies to use the tool.
To make this happen, I used scroll-stopping images, statistics and scenarios that I knew would resonate with the target audience.(When I create content, I do it all. I develop strategy, source photos, design graphics, edit videos, write copy, record voiceover and schedule posts.)
Also, by turning these social media posts into advertisements, I was able to reach a much larger and more targeted audience, which not only increased awareness of the tool but also of the organization.
